The bleached cutoff short is a Summer staple for us. Not only do cutoffs keep us cool in the summer heat, it’s also really easy to create a one of a kind pair for yourself (just be sure to wear gloves!) We usually look for vintage high-waisted pants and then take a very sharp pair of scissors and an x-acto knife to them and lastly, dip them in bleach. A few hours later and, voîla! You have yourself a pair of bleached cutoffs.
Now finding creative ways to dress up your cutoffs is a little bit harder but in light of the recent Rihanna CFDA sheerness, we went straight for the organza section on Polyvore to play with transparency. We, however, are not international divas, actually we have mothers who would side-eye us in a bralette. So for this look, we threw in a simple triangle bra top for added coverage. The organza is pretty extravagant so keep the accessories to a minimum but add a pop of colour on the lip and nails. Since the price tags are, yes we know, very “whoa!”, take a look at brands like Zara who have some pretty affordable options. Slip on some modern looking sneakers to complete a day look or a pair of sleek pumps at night, and you’re bleached cutoffs looks is good to go!
