Dancin’ Digs: New Chronixx Video, Stream SZA’s “Z”, Little Dragon Sings Popcaan and More!

Chronixx, Lykki Li, Konshens and Little Dragon

Chronixx, Lykki Li, Konshens and Little Dragon on this week’s Dancin’ Digs

This week’s edition of “Dancin’ Digs” is an eclectic mix. It usually is, but this week’s really is all over the map: from dancehall to reggae to swedish singers and “Sweet Novembers.” It’s also incredibly late in the week for us to be posting a column on “mid-week upliftment” because the weekend is peering at us from around the corner at this point. Still, there’s plenty to hear and see in this edition of Dancin’ Digs, so sit back and enjoy the sounds and sights from the songs we sourced straight from the bloglines we love and delivered to you for a little mid-week Thursday vibes.

Chronixx, “Rastaman Wheel Out”

We mentioned Chronixx’s video’s release for “Rastaman Wheel out” in last week’s edition of Weekly Style but it seemed the video didn’t show face until somewhere Wednesday last week. Nonetheless, we love the style and swagger of Chronixx, and in this Ras Kassa directed short-film, Chronixx takes us on a playful journey through this Rastaman’s Sunday excursion to the market for peas. Get Chronixx’s full EP Dread and Terrible out now.

Konshens, “Gun Shot A Fire”

Putting the conscious back in “Konshens”, the dancehall artiste revisits his roots with this video for “Gun Shot A Fire”. While he has been the king of the bubblin’ songs as late, Konshens has often been a voice of reason when it comes to violence and youth.

Little Dragon, “Paris (Zane Lowe Radio Rip)”
We’ve loved Little Dragon since their release of”Twice” and the subsequent shadow puppets video for the song. Now we have even more reason to love them since lead singer Yukimi Nagano Instagramed herself singing Popcaan’s “Everything Nice.” We love tha song too Yukimi.  The newly released track “Paris” is the first single off their much anticipated LP, Nabuma Rubberband.

SZA, “Sweet November”

Speaking of full length albums, we are loving the new tracks from SZA’s new album  Z–which you can stream online in full length on either Spotify and Rdio. To give you a taste we’re sharing her “Sweet November” track, a bubbling cauldron of soul and vibes.

Lykke Li, “No Rest for the Wicked”

You may not realize, but this Swedish beauty is the reason the top bun has gotten so much play since 2008. Lykke Li hit the streets running with her widely loved “Little Bit” track– bun on head– and the fashion world became preoccupied. Now she’s on her way to having her own line and third album, for which this wickedly beautiful track is featured.
