Every Friday in our column “Style Selec’tings” we scour the web for the week’s best in clothing and accessories from Jamaican stores and designers. This week we get down to business on Style Selec’tings because, let’s face it, everyone is talking about Heroes Weekend and what they’re gonna wear to who’s party and where. With that being said, there won’t be much else said. Our modus operandi this week is to give you as many options as possible before everything gets scooped up.

The styles we chose this week are playful and fun since that’s what Holiday is all about, so peep the looks from local designers like Yahdie Conscious and Jae Jolly as they have great sale items and great looks. A perfect standout look to keep in mind for the weekend? A printed crop (like this one from The Wardrobe.) The more elaborate the print the better. If we could take Kehinde Wiley’s paintings off the wall and wear them… we would. Don’t forget your endless shorts and swim outfits from Giirli Gurlz, 80s Baby by Ms. Jaye, Grandeur and Alter Ego. They have plenty of great looks to go around so get there and grab ’em. Looking for an evening look? Grandeur has a sexy pants suit in while while The Wardrobe has a cute little polka dot mini for you to dress up with all your gold jewels. Last but not least, yes, dudes we have you in mind. Over at Base Kingston they are having a one day flash sale and there is plenty new stuff to get you dressed for the weekend events. Hope you all enjoy the holiday!
