“A New Belle at Base Kingston”

Sherise Norton and Jodie Anderson owners of Belle

A refreshing alteration has made its way on to the rack’s of Base Kingston’s “Belle” this month. An eclectically curated women’s section from Jodie Anderson and Sherise Norton has been added to the trendy clothing store in Manor Park.

Base Kingston, which sells men’s and women’s clothing and accessories, will be revamped into a lifestyle store with the addition of Anderson and Norton’s vision. Now, not only will the newest styles be available to Kingstonians but eventually music, decorative knick-knacks, home décor and possibly vintage sourced from overseas.

Anderson, who resides in Miami, chose the pieces for the women’s section based on her and her business partner’s own personal styles. The two hand pick the pieces in a collaborative effort, “we balance each other out” says Anderson. “My style is very eclectic, artistic and a little daring, while Sherise brings that sexy and feminine look.”

The change will add a fresh mix to the store, which is owned by musical artiste Cesar Cunningham and designer Jason Panton and previously curated by Tami Chynn. Anderson envisioned the new styles helping women to build on their own collections creatively. “We want to give the fundamentals to build on”, says Anderson of the new pieces. “Our pieces could be the one thing that pulls that outfit together, that cohesive element.”

The new Belle shop girls will be showcasing their pieces at the official launch on June 30th. You can snatch the early arrivals now at Base Kingston located at Shop #11, Upper Manor Park Plaza Kingston 8, Jamaica. They are open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. http://bkandb.tumblr.com
