As of next Tuesday the fashion race is on. Twenty Caribbean designers will compete for the top spot on Mission Catwalk and a chance to study under Trinidad-born Savile Row Tailor Andrew Ramroop. Season Two premieres March 27th on TVJ, pitting contestants from Barbados, Belize, Jamaica, Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago in weekly challenges of talent and creativity.
Accomplished fashion tailor and educator, Ramroop, leapt at the opportunity to work with the final contestant winner. He stated, “with the abundance of talent in the Caribbean, teaming up with Mission Catwalk presents an opportunity to my people to raise a new generation of highly skilled designers that not only conceptualize their designs but can execute them as well.”
Jamaican producer/designer/host Keneea Linton-George organized with Ramroop to provide the understudy. In addition, the contestant winner will have the chance to show their collection at London Fashion Week 2012 and receive a scholarship to pursue their degree at London College of Fashion. Tune in every Tuesday at 8:30 PM EST and decide who is your favorite fashion up-and-comer.
